Deer cull divides 5th Ward candidates for Ann Arbor City Council
Council Member Chuck Warpehoski, who supports conducting annual culls to reduce the city's deer population, is defending his seat against challenger Kevin Leeser, who doesn't believe killing deer should be a city priority.
"We have bigger fish to fry right now than deer eating some people's vegetables," Leeser said during a candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters on Wednesday night, July 13.
Warpehoski said he stands by the City Council's decision last year to launch a deer management program that includes annual culls for four years.
